Savannah Guthrie is offering a $1 million reward for the safe return of her mom, Nancy Guthrie, who has been missing for 24 days in a mysterious kidnapping.
A source exclusively tells Page Six that the family hopes the reward will “help stimulate or further incentivize” a lead or tip from “someone who has thus far been reluctant” to come forward.
“The family first raised this on the first day of the investigation and has been ready to do this ever since,” our insider revealed, noting that the family had been advised to hold off on offering their own incentive — until now.
“They were advised by all involved in the investigation that doing so earlier might overwhelm the infrastructure set up to field leads, tens of thousands of which have been coming in organically.”
The source added, “This action was taken after careful consultation and in coordination with law enforcement. The family continues to stay in lock step with authorities on the search/investigation.”
Former CIA member and FBI special agent Tracy Walder also tells Page Six of the reward, “Their mindset is they want their mom back. And they’re going to do everything they can.”
In a new video posted via Savannah’s Instagram account early Tuesday, she sadly noted that her mother may no longer be alive, given how much time has passed in the search.
“She may already be gone,” she tearfully said. “She may have already gone home to the Lord that she loves and is dancing in Heaven with her mom and her dad and with her beloved brother, Pierce, and with our daddy.”
Walder told us, however, that the comment doesn’t mean the family has given up hope.
“They are being logical. Their hope is [that] they just want their mom back,” the NewsNation contributor explained. “At this point, they acknowledge having her back could be deceased and alive. We have hope we can physically get her back so we can celebrate her life, or celebrate her, one of the two.”
Savannah marked day 24 of the disappearance with the emotional video she posted Tuesday.
“Hi there. I’m coming on to say it is day 24 since our mom was taken in the dark of night from her bed, and every hour and minute and second and every long night has been agony since then of worrying about her and fearing about her, aching for her, and most of all, just missing her,” the “Today” show anchor began.
“We know that millions of you have been praying, so many people have been praying of every faith and no faith at all. We feel those prayers. Please keep praying without ceasing. We still believe.”
She added, “We still believe in a miracle. We still believe that she can come home. … We are blowing on the embers of hope.”
Savannah then shared that she and her family are now offering a reward of up to $1 million for any information that leads them to Nancy’s recovery.
“You can call the 1-800 tip line, you can be anonymous if you want,” she said. “Someone out there knows something that can bring her home. Somebody knows and we are begging you to please come forward now.”
Nancy was reported missing on Feb. 1 and was last seen the night prior. Investigators believed she was kidnapped in her sleep, and a trail of blood, which authorities confirmed was hers, was found outside her front door.
A ransom note was sent to news organizations demanding the Guthrie family pay $6 million in bitcoin by the deadline of Monday, Feb. 9 at 5 p.m. MT.
After the deadline, a FBI spokesperson said in a statement that the Guthrie family has not had “any continued communication” with the abductor.
On Feb. 10, authorities released photos and videos of a masked individual breaking into Guthrie’s home wearing gloves and a backpack.
While a number of people were questioned over the course of the investigation when the photos and videos were released, no one has been arrested or charged with the kidnapping.
Authorities confirmed the Guthrie family has been cleared in the crime. The investigation remains ongoing.
