The people of the Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, under the banner of a socio-political group, the Like Minds in the Kwara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), have appealed to the national leadership of the APC to consider the positive contributions of the immediate past chairman of the party and governorship aspirant, Hon. Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa (BOB), and make him the party’s governorship flag bearer in the 2027 elections.
Speaking with journalists in Ilorin, the chairman of the group, Hon. Bayo Yusuf Ige, said that Bolarinwa led the O to ge (“enough is enough”) revolution, which halted over four decades of political dominance by the PDP.
“He (Bolarinwa) has also been a good ambassador and proud son of Ifelodun in all positions held.
“Hon. B. 0. B’s political profile is both rich and rare. From grassroots governance as a Councillor and Local Government Chairman, to national service as a Member of the House of Representatives, and strategic leadership as State Party Chairman, his experience spans
both executive and legislative arms.
“His leadership was instrumental in the historic 2019 emergence of the APC into the governance of Kwara state when the party defeated the Saraki political dynasty of the state that had been controlling the governance of the state for the past 40 years”.
Ige, therefore, urged the national leadership of the party to consider the past positive contributions of Hon. Bolarinwa to sustain the success of the present administration in the state.
He also called on all APC members and stakeholders across the state to rally round BOB, described as a reformer “who truly understands where the shoe pinches and how best to provide lasting solutions”.
The people commended Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his resilience and resolve in sustaining the gains of 2019 and securing a repeat victory in 2023, adding that the continuity of progress must be consolidated with capable leadership as 2027 approaches.

Ige, who said that the assembly of like-minded citizens from all 18 wards of the Ifelodun Local Government Area is not merely a meeting, added that it is a movement.
“A movement driven by purpose, powered by the people, and
pointed toward progress.
“We stand united, not in noise but in noble numbers, to demonstrate our collective strength and shared aspiration. Our presence here is a peaceful proof of popular participation.
“His support is not built on money or manipulation, but on merit and consistency. He has neither induced nor imposed himself; rather, he has inspired and impacted lives through decades of dedicated service.
