Rapper Offset Responding To Treatment After Florida Casino Shooting

Rapper Offset is in a stable condition after being shot near a casino in Hollywood, authorities and his representative confirmed.

The artist, whose real name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus, was injured during an incident outside the Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood on Monday evening. A spokesperson said he is being closely monitored.

In a statement, the Seminole Police Department said an “incident” occurred in the valet area outside the venue. One person was taken to Memorial Regional Hospital Hollywood with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said the situation was quickly contained and two people were detained.

“We can confirm Offset was shot and is currently at the hospital receiving medical care. He is stable and being closely monitored,” the rapper’s rep told People magazine.

“Right now it looks like he’s going to be okay,” confirmed the insider. “He’s at Memorial Regional Hospital and is not in the ICU.”

Social media personality DJ Akademiks claimed during a livestream that fellow rapper Lil Tjay was involved in a physical altercation with Offset before the shooting and is in police custody. Authorities have not publicly confirmed that claim.

According to Vibe Magazine, the two rappers have been embroiled in a long-running dispute reportedly linked to money. The 24-year-old rapper recently alleged that Offset owed him $10,000 from a loan.

Offset, who shares three children with Cardi B, rose to fame as a member of Migos.
