Police responded around 3:05 a.m. to a reported shooting at an apartment complex at 1400 E. Rundberg Lane, between Interstate 35 and Cameron Road. When officers arrived on the scene, they found a man in his 40s suffering from multiple gunshot wounds next to a dumpster outside.
Austin police said life-saving measures were not successful and the man, who has not been identified publicly, was pronounced dead at 3:16 a.m. Saturday.
Police said the unknown suspect fled the scene after the shooting, and they are offering a $1,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest in the case.
