The United States President, Donald Trump, has issued a final message to Iran, urging an agreement to end the ongoing conflict before his Tuesday deadline.
Recall that Trump had threatened to strike civilian infrastructure targets across Iran if the regime refused to allow free passage through the Strait of Hormuz by 20:00 EDT on Tuesday (01:00 BST Wednesday).
Naija News reports that Trump, in a post shared on his Truth Social page on Tuesday, threatened that a whole civilisation will die tonight if a deal is not reached.
Trump maintained that it will be an end to forty-seven years of extortion, corruption and death.
He wrote, “A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again. I don’t want that to happen, but it probably will.
“However, now that we have complete and total regime change, where different, smarter, and less radicalized minds prevail, maybe something revolutionarily wonderful can happen, who knows?
“We will find out tonight, one of the most important moments in the long and complex history of the world. Forty-seven years of extortion, corruption and death will finally end. God bless the great people of Iran!”
