Fire crews on Thursday were battling a structure fire in Montebello, authorities said.
The fire was reported at 7:21 p.m. at 121 E. Whittier Blvd., according to the Verdugo fire dispatch center. Authorities described heavy fire coming from the roof of the structure, prompting a second alarm response.
Per Verdugo Fire Dispatch, the Montebello Fire Department responded with mutual aid assistance from the Monterey Park Fire Department, Glendale Fire Department, San Gabriel Fire Department, and San Marino Fire Department.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known and remains under investigation.
