The Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi, has issued a stern warning to content creators, urging them to desist from posting videos that may create panic in the territory.
The CP gave the warning on Friday while explaining how a TikToker, Pam Joseph, was nabbed by operatives of the command following a viral video alleging an invasion of the nation’s capital by terrorists.
DAILY POST reports that a highly disturbing footage went viral on social media on Thursday, purporting that some daredevil terrorists have invaded Abuja.
The video also indicated that gunshots have been “raining heavily” in parts of the city.
The FCT CP on Friday said a content creator behind the fake video was traced to Bwari and arrested.
He said the suspect admitted to the crime, stating that his aim was to gain followers on TikTok.
“When we got the video, we conducted a forensic analysis and got the picture of the person behind the voice.
“Our men looked for him and luckily apprehended him in a village in Bwari. We asked him the motive behind the video, he said he did it just to get followers on TikTok.
“All content creators should note that the police have advanced. If you put out a false video, we will look for you wherever you are hiding and get you arrested.
“Stop creating panic in the city. Saying that terrorists invaded Abuja is not a joke,” the CP said.
