A retired Deputy Comptroller of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Mr. Sunday Olusegun Olubiyi, popularly known as Osara, has embraced music as a full-time profession following his retirement from public service.
Osara told Showbiz that his passion for music began in childhood and gradually developed into a lifelong dream.
According to him, his early involvement in church choir activities helped him develop interest in playing musical instruments, particularly the guitar.
He explained that encouragement from church members and others helped him nurture his musical talent, leading to the formation of his own band, which has remained active over the years.
Despite pursuing music, Osara said he successfully combined his passion with his career in the Nigeria Immigration Service, where his musical talent was recognised and utilised during official events.
He noted that after retiring as a Deputy Comptroller, he decided to focus fully on music, describing the transition as the fulfillment of a long-held ambition.

Speaking of his achievements, Osara disclosed that he has released an album and recorded more than 10 tracks, including ‘Oro Nigeria Yii’, ‘Ire Mi Ti De’, ‘Mo Gboju Soke’, ‘New Year Thanksgiving’ and ‘The Birthday Mega Praise.’
Osara described his music style as a blend of juju, gospel and highlife, noting that he drew inspiration from legendary musicians such as King Sunny Ade, Chief Ebenezer Obey, King Wasiu Ayinde (KWAM 1), the late Orlando Owoh and Kayode Aboyade.
He advised established artistes to support upcoming talents while urging younger musicians to remain humble and patient, adding that government support for the entertainment industry will help boost Nigeria’s economy and tourism sector.
