The Ondo State Police Command has arrested three men in connection with the violent assault and armed robbery of a police officer in Agadagba, located in the Ese-Odo Local Government Area of the state.
This information was provided in a statement issued and signed by the State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Abayomi Jimoh. He reported that the suspects disarmed the police officer and robbed him.
The suspects, identified as Ajemigi Amos, Ofoezu Tari, and Alonge Lot, were apprehended following a swift, intelligence-driven operation conducted by the Command.
The incident occurred when Inspector Ige Olayinka, who is assigned to the Area Command in Okitipupa, was carrying out official duties related to a petition referred for investigation in the community.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the officer was violently assaulted by a group of individuals who forcibly took her service riot gun and personal belongings.

Following the report, the Command quickly mobilised operatives to track down the perpetrators, which led to the recovery of the stolen service riot gun.
He said three suspects were subsequently arrested and were charged to court and remanded in a correctional facility.
The PPRO strongly condemned the attack, describing it as “an affront to constituted authority and a serious threat to public order.”
He reaffirmed the Command’s zero tolerance for any form of violence against law enforcement personnel while discharging their lawful duties.
He reassured residents of continued security across the state, urging the public to remain law-abiding and to provide credible information to aid crime prevention and detection.
The State Police Command commended members of the public for their cooperation and reiterated its commitment to ensuring the safety, peace, and security of all residents.
