Ibadan is set for a memorable cultural and spiritual experience today as popular gospel minister, Evangelist Bukola Akinade, widely known as Senwele Jesu, hosts the much-anticipated “Ibadan Yin Oluwa Pelu Senwele Jesu”.

The first-of-its-kind indigenous gospel gathering, which has already generated excitement among gospel music lovers, culture enthusiasts and worshippers across the city and beyond, will hold at 2 p.m. at Oke Mapo, Ibadan.

What makes “Ibadan Yin Oluwa” unique is its bold cultural identity. The event is designed as a strictly Yoruba-speaking gospel experience, aimed at celebrating the beauty of the Yoruba language while preserving the rich tradition and heritage of Ibadanland through worship, music and indigenous expression.

Organisers noted that the vision behind the event is to create a refreshing atmosphere where faith, culture and language blend seamlessly, offering worshippers a rare opportunity to praise God in a deeply traditional and authentic way.

At the centre of the initiative is Evangelist Dr. Rachael Olubukola Akinade, the convener and driving force behind the programme, whose ministry has continued to attract attention for its powerful indigenous style and energetic gospel delivery.

With Senwele Jesu at the helm, the gathering is expected to deliver not only soul-lifting music, but also a strong message of cultural pride and spiritual awakening.

Senwele Jesu also disclosed that royal fathers, top government functionaries, clerics and dignitaries from all walks of life are expected to grace the event, further underscoring its significance as one of the standout Easter gatherings in Ibadan this year.

More than just a gospel concert, “Ibadan Yin Oluwa Pelu Senwele Jesu” is shaping up to be a cultural statement and spiritual celebration, one that proudly projects the language, identity and faith heritage of the Yoruba people.
